My Apple Strudel

At the Hotel Aurora in Krivoy Rog, where was I working for 2 weeks in Feb this year, the food was surprisingly well prepared. To my surprise, an order of apple strudel with vanilla ice cream came out beyond my expectation.

The pastry is baked at the hotel, served with creme anglaise, strawberry sauce and the vanilla ice cream. It was warm, moist and flaky. The apple filling with a bit of raisins had the right combination of tartness and sweetness. The creme anglaise and the strawberry sauce added something extra to the pastry.

It was as yummy as it looked.
